How many of us have memories, both good and not so good, of George’s? Over the many years it has been open, it has been the scene of many events associated with SRPD, both on duty and off duty.
For me, I recall breaking up many fights inside and outside, many local drunks that had to be either booked or taken to the hospital and lot’s of music and helping to keep the peace between lovers and friends who had too much to drink.
For you old timers, a couple of questions to take you down memory lane.
- Do you remember the card games a few of you would participate in with the local players?
- Do you remember the name of the owner in 1967?
- What happened to the card room that used to be part of George’s?
- What was the most serious crime that happened in George’s?
The link below will take you to the Marin IJ’s website with an article about George’s and it’s reopening.
